Ford has established the Bronco Wild Fund to raise money for nonprofits that support the environment and outdoor appreciation. Naturally, the iconic and rugged Ford Bronco is the perfect mascot for this conservation effort.
The Bronco Wild Fund is expected to raise as much as $5 million a year which will go to two organizations: the National Forest Foundation and Outward Bound. A portion of the sales from every Built Wild™ Ford Bronco or Branco Sport will go into the fund.
The National Forest Foundation protects and promotes America’s almost two million acres of national parks and grasslands. The group has a program of reforestation and plans to plant 50 million trees in national forests across the country by 2023. As a part of that effort, Ford has committed to planting a million new trees next year.
Outward Bound USA helps young people develop an appreciation for nature and meet personal challenges. Through the outdoor learning program, students learn to work together and develop respect for the environment. The Bronco Wild Fund will donate $250,000 to environmental education through the organization next year, a portion of which will be used to develop Bronco-themed outdoor experiences to ensure that the next generation carries on the tradition of outdoor adventure.
